The Challenge

1

Rescue Delivery Under an Active Deadline

The prior developer had gone unreachable mid-project with only a single hero section to show. The client had already lost confidence. There was no handoff, no codebase to build on, and no room for further delays. The full website, multiple pages, integrations, and SEO, had to be delivered from scratch under urgent timeline pressure.

2

Platform Decision That Wasn't the Client's

The original solution had been scoped and presented to the client on Squarespace, a platform the client had never specifically requested. When the build was complete, a fundamental constraint surfaced: Squarespace does not allow publishing without an active paid plan on a monthly billing cycle. This had not been communicated to the client upfront. When it was, their already fragile confidence dropped further.

3

Converting a Content Document Into a Clinical Brand

The only asset available was a text document containing website copy. There were no designs, no brand guidelines beyond the logo, and no visual references. The site had to feel appropriate for a licensed clinical practice, premium, trustworthy, and faith-integrated, built entirely from copy and judgment.

4

Healthcare-Specific Functional Requirements

A therapy practice website is not a brochure. It needed a functioning patient inquiry flow, appointment booking integrated with the practice's existing scheduling infrastructure, and on-page SEO structured around competitive mental health keywords in the New York market.

The Solution

1

Platform Pivot: Squarespace to HTML/CSS/JS + Vercel

Rather than absorbing the Squarespace billing constraint into the project, I went directly to the client with a clear question: was Squarespace a requirement, or did they simply need their website live and ranking? Their answer was the latter. Within two days of that conversation, I rebuilt the entire site in clean HTML, CSS, and JavaScript and deployed it to Vercel with the client's domain connected. No platform lock-in, no monthly billing surprise, faster load performance, and full control over the codebase.

2

Full Multi-Page Build From Scratch

Delivered the complete website from a single content document, with no prior design and no existing codebase:

  • Home: hero, mission statement, REAL MIND framework overview, transformation pathway, who we help, why choose us
  • Individual Therapy: focused page targeting anxiety, depression, trauma, emotional regulation
  • Couples Therapy: communication, trust repair, faith-based relationship guidance
  • Family Therapy: family systems, conflict resolution, parenting challenges
  • About / Founder: full clinical profile for Glad Uko-Ima, LMHC credentials, REAL MIND Therapy framework
  • Fees and Insurance: transparent session pricing, private pay rationale
  • Contact: structured inquiry form with Resend integration
3

Resend Integration: Patient Inquiry Flow

Integrated Resend as the contact form submission handler. Every inquiry submitted through the contact page routes directly to the practice's inbox with fully structured field data, including name, email, phone, therapy type, preferred time, and message. Clean, reliable, no dependency on a third-party form platform.

4

ZocDoc Integration: Appointment Booking

The client was already using ZocDoc as their appointment scheduling platform. Rather than building a parallel booking system, I integrated their existing ZocDoc link as the primary CTA across every therapy page, Individual, Couples, Family, and the homepage. Every "Schedule a Consultation" or "Book a Session" button routes directly to their ZocDoc profile, eliminating friction between visitor intent and actual booking.

5

On-Page SEO

Structured the entire site around the client's target keyword set for the New York mental health market: faith-based therapy NYC, Christian couples counseling New York, anxiety therapy NYC, LMHC therapist New York, trauma therapy NYC, relationship counseling NYC. Meta titles, descriptions, heading hierarchy, and page copy were all aligned to these terms. Pages are indexed and appearing in Google search results. Ranking progression for competitive and long-tail keywords is ongoing per standard Google indexing timelines.

The Results

Full multi-page website delivered from scratch under emergency timeline with no prior codebase, no designs, and a single content document as the only available asset.

Squarespace billing constraint identified mid-project and resolved within two days: entire site migrated to Vercel, eliminating platform lock-in and an unexpected monthly subscription cost the client had never agreed to.

Client confidence restored through direct communication, transparent problem-solving, and on-time delivery after a failed prior engagement.

Resend-powered contact form live and routing all patient inquiries directly to the practice inbox with fully structured field data, name, email, phone, therapy type, preferred time, and message.

ZocDoc integrated as the primary booking CTA across all therapy pages and the homepage. Every "Schedule" button routes directly to the client's existing ZocDoc profile with zero additional infrastructure.

All pages indexed on Google and appearing in search results, with keyword targeting structured for the competitive NYC mental health market across faith-based therapy, LMHC therapist New York, couples counseling NYC, and anxiety therapy NYC.

Project Overview

Real Mind Psychotherapy is a New York-based licensed mental health practice founded by Glad Uko-Ima, LMHC, a New York State Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Clinical Supervisor. The practice offers individual, couples, and family therapy through a structured, faith-integrated clinical framework called REAL MIND Therapy, serving clients via telehealth across New York.

The project came in as an emergency engagement. A prior development effort had stalled: only a hero section existed, multiple pages remained unbuilt, and a delivery deadline had already been missed. The client was skeptical. I was brought in to assess the situation, take full ownership, and deliver a complete, production-ready website.
